Listen. Share. Preserve.

The Voices Unheard project aims to preserve the life stories of individuals who work and live near Superfund sites by using oral history.

Digital photographs of two collages (circa 2000s) and a photovoice statement (2020) by Treesha de France for Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano depicting the impacts of the Iron King Mine and Humboldt Smelter Superfund site. These collages have been created using personal photographs, book/magazine images, pen ink, orange glitter, and construction paper. De France was the former head of the Environmental Issues Advisory Committee in Dewey-Humboldt, Arizona and she was also instrumental in getting this Superfund site established.
